Chardonel

Created by the scientists from Cornell University (Chardonnay +corNell = Chardonel) to grow in our region of the country. This wine is much more fruit forward than a typical Chardonnay. While it can be oaked, the family prefers to highlight the fruitier characteristics of the wine.

Tasting notes

Strong hints of citrus, grapefruit and pear, with a semi sweet, buttery finish.

Food pairing

Fantastic with pork ribs, shoulder, and spicy barbecue. Also, pairs very nicely with mild fish such as cod, sea bass, and lake walleye. This wine can also perform as an after-dinner cordial due to the slight residual sweetness.
